Rules for marking dialogue. by Suzanne Pitner

  1. Put quotation marks around the words that actually come out of a person’s mouth.
  2. Capitalize the first word of what the person says.
  3. Punctuation goes inside the quotation marks.
  4. Use commas or periods after dialogue tags depending on where they are in the sentence.
  5. Start a new paragraph each time a person speaks.
Using proper punctuation with dialogue makes the conversation clear. These rules are simple enough to remember and clarify where the punctuation marks belong. For more about dialogue, see the article Writing Dialogue Like a Script Writer to Jump Start a Scene.

Poetry --  Many forms, many thoughts....
Rain in the Desert
It’s raining
In the desert
A Celebration is in order
Sing in it
Dance in it
Enjoy the fresh sage fragrance
And most importantly..
Let the magical drops fall on your face
As you look upward to the heavens

"Talent is a discovery of what you see within yourself and what others see without. "  ~  Dr. Yopp

My hidden talent is that I am Super Woman !! Well, maybe that is an exaggeration.  I do like to play the banjo and seven other instruments.  Can you guess them?

I believe my greatest talent is teaching.  I love learning along with my students. I have won a few awards and have secured a few grants. My bio-poem would be:

                                   Dr. Yopp
                Outgoing, Adventurous, Fun-Loving, Nerdy
                       Mother of Phil and Katie
                                                            Loves learning, pondering, philosphising
I am blessed, emotional and tenderhearted
I fear not doing my best and disappointing others
I have a doctoral degree and was the 1994 Teacher of the Year out of 2,000 teachers
I want all children to desire knowledge and understanding
                                                                    I reside in Surprise, Arizona
                                                                          I am Dr. Yopp
